Hey, I'm Mahmoud
I build scalable web development solutions in the cloud.
Full Stack Web Developer @ CIO AllianceI began my journey as a software engineer in 2019. At the time, I had developed a card trading game that hit 5,000 users in the first week. This built my confidence and pushed me further into the industry. In 2023, I developed a new game Jingle, which I'm currently maintaining to support 50,000 players.
I'm also a full stack developer for CIO Alliance, where I manage technical needs from serverless auth, to database requirements, to event-driven architectures that support email notifications. As the lead engineer, I'm the first point of contact with stakeholders regarding design decision questions and scalability.
Before this, I was a founding engineer at LiveIQ, where I generated $5k+ MRR building a PostgreSQL-GraphQL API, integrating an AI chatbot with Med Spa systems. I engineered a decoupled queue architecture using Redis/BullMQ for webhook processing jobs. I designed a resilient cloud architecture using AWS/DigitalOcean that supported canary deploys, failover, and auto-scaling for SQL load.
Prior to LiveIQ, I led a team of 4 engineers to develop a series of projects: mahloola-bot, osuCollector, Jingle. Each of these projects scaled up to support thousands of users; the pressure of supporting a real user base threw me into the deep end, and taught me some early lessons about scalable web engineering and resilience. Naturally, this is what led me to develop an interest for the cloud.
I also teach at Superprof, where I use my experience to mentor aspiring software engineers of all ages.
